A teenage girl was brutally attacked after a minor tiff over holding up the elevator car took a violent turn at a building in the plush Shanti Park locality of Mira Road on Sunday afternoon.
Soniya Rana, 19, a resident of Kashimira locality, also in Mira Road, had stepped out of her office in Royal Plaza building and was irked over an inordinate delay for the elevator car which had been held up on the lower floor by some people.
When the elevator landed on the floor where Rana was waiting, she questioned the occupants of the elevator about why they had held up the car for a long time. The girl was attacked with a sharp object, which she claimed was a blade, said the police. The attackers then left the place immediately.
Rana, who sustained injuries, was administered sutures at a clinic in the locality. Her condition is stated to be stable. An officer of Mira Road police station said they have registered a case against unidentified persons.
