MUMBAI: German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in the city on Wednesday as part of her two-day visit which includes a meeting with Indian business leaders.
    
She will be visiting the office of NABARD and will later pay a visit to Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna.
    
Merkel, who is accompanied by a delegation of top German business leaders, will be meeting Commerce and Industries Minister Kamalnath and Indian industry leaders in the evening at a hotel in south Mumbai.
    
She will also be attending a dinner hosted for her by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
    
The German Chancellor will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh Thursday morning, following which she will present the Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award at the Mumbai University.
    
Merkel will then visit the Spastics Society National Resource Centre, prior to her departure from the country, an official with the German consulate in Mumbai said.
