Two days after she was slapped by a 24-year-old man on the sets of a show in Goregaon's Film City, actor and model Gauhar Khan has expressed her shock and resentment. Speaking to media persons, Khan said that nobody has the right to raise a hand or hurt anybody to force down personal ideologies. However, she said that she was not perturbed by the incident. "It's shocking that a man thought he could get away by attacking a woman in a public forum. I stand up for women's rights and I condemn such uncivilised and violent acts against women," said Khan.

Referring to the incident where the Rohtak sisters bashed up molesters inside a bus, she said that every woman should stand up against such people and moral policing should be condemned in this day and age. "I respect the Rohtak sisters. I hope every woman who goes through such harassment raises her voice. This incident has only made me stronger," she added.

On Sunday night, the accused, Akil Malik, 24, walked up to the stage from the audience, during the shoot of a reality show and slapped Khan. He did this as he was against Khan wearing skimpy clothes which he said was against her religion. Malik was arrested by the Aarey Colony police for molestation, causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
