Gang held for planning to rob Lalbaugcha Raja devotees

The Kalachowkie police on Monday arrested six people who were planning to rob devotees visiting Lalbaugcha Raja. The police have seized choppers and chilli powder from the accused. They have also arrested five others in three different cases for allegedly stealing mobile phones of devotees.

Those arrested have been identified as Amjad Mohammad Rafiq Mansuri, Babu Abdul Haq Khan, Mehndi Hassan Khalil Ahmed, Mohammad Abrar Mohammad Ansari, Mohammad Baijuddin Mohammad Junaid Ansari, and Magan Nazir Qureshi. All are natives of Madhya Pradesh.

Police sources said policeman and complainant Satish Kotkar was on night duty on September 7, and while on duty, a senior told him that an unknown person had called at the police station, and informed that a group of people had gathered below Cotton Green bridge, and were keeping an eye on devotees headed to and coming from Lalbaugcha Raja darshan.

A police team rushed there and found six people at the spot. "We apprehended them, and on searching, found two choppers, a button knife, and chilli powder. They told the police they were planning to rob devotees by threatening them with weapons. They were placed under arrest on Monday," said an officer.

Apart from this, the five arrested for mobile phone theft have been identified as Pravin Kumar Pujari, Ilyas Shaikh, Mohammad Saddam Mohammad Rabib Rayeen, Mohammad Ehsaan Mohammad Usman Ansari, and Haider Gilani Khan.
