Justice PB Gaikwad was today sworn in as Lokayukta by Maharashtra governor SC Jamir at Raj Bhawan.

Gaikwad succeeds justice GD Patil who demited office in January. Upa-Lokayukta Suresh Kumar held the charge till now, an official release said.

Chief minister Ashok Chavan was among those present at the swearing-in ceremony of Gaikwas, who is a retired High Court judge.
