Providing a final opportunity for students who were left out in the earlier FYJC admission rounds, the state education department has announced admissions to such students on 'first come, first serve (FCFS)' basis from October 9 to 11.

As per a notification issued by the Deputy Directorate of Education, students who have been left out of the process due to any reasons can apply for admissions to colleges against vacancies on the FCFS basis. Students who had earlier registered in the online process but did not manage to get any allotment and students who wish to change their stream can also apply afresh during these three days.

BB Chavan, Deputy Director of Education for the Mumbai region said that around 50,000 seats are vacant after all the rounds against which students can apply.

"Students will get admissions only against vacancies on the FCFS basis. Those who want to change their streams would also have to apply afresh only against vacancies even if they wish to retain their college," added Chavan. This year, the education department conducted eight rounds for admissions including two FCFS rounds after which close to 1,000 students were without a seat.
