Fourth FYJC online merit list out; 2.22 lakh get admission

Those students who got admission in the first, second or third merit lists should cancel their admissions in those colleges if they have got a betterment option in the fourth merit list. Those betterment admissions can be done on July 19 and 20.

The fourth merit list for FYJC online admission was declared by the city colleges at 5pm on Monday. A total of 2.22 lakh students got their college allotments through this process. Only two students failed to get colleges of their choice for not meeting the cut-off percentage. According to education officials, 50,000 seats still remain vacant in colleges after these allotments.

While in most colleges arts stream admissions were closed, science and commerce admissions were still going on. After the third merit list, the cut-off for commerce has come down by one to two percent, the science cut-off in some colleges have come down by two to six percent.

BB Chauhan, deputy director of school education department, said: "2,22,622 have registered for the FYJC online admission process. We have allotted admissions to 2,22,620 students and two are still remaining because they did not meet the cut-off percentage. After these allotments, there are around 50,000 seats still vacant in colleges. The counseling round will take place on July 28 and 29 for those students whose forms were incorrect or they did not submit the online admission forms properly."
