Four Nigerians held by MRA Marg police with Rs 16 lakh of cocaine

The MRA Marg police on Saturday arrested four persons, including three Nigerian nationals, with cocaine worth Rs 16 lakh.

Those arrested have been identified as Zadi Elai Sunday, Ommanues Eja, Moses Sunday and taxi driver Mohammad Nasim Fakir Mohammad.

Deputy commissioner of police, Zone 1, Abhishek Trimukhe, said, “At around 7.15 am on Saturday, while on patrolling duty, officials from the MRA Marg police station intercepted a taxi that was moving suspiciously in the Ballard Pier area. Three Nigerian nationals and a driver was present in the car. Upon checking their persons, we found 332 grams of cocaine worth Rs 16.60 lakh.”

“Mohammad Nasim used to ferry the other three, who are based in Vashi in Navi Mumbai. We are investigating further to check where they sourced the cocaine from and who was it meant for. They have been booked under sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,” Trimukhe said.
