Aarey sub police investigating the case of two unknown people opening fire on Shrikant alias Raju Shinde (45) on Friday afternoon at Film City recorded statements of eight people who were personally and professionally associated with Shinde. The cops also identified the owner of the bike used by the shooters.

"We have started analaysing the call record details of the victim and will be checking the numbers which we find suspicious," Additional Commissioner of Police (North) Fateh Singh Patil said.

Shinde's attackers had fled from the spot after firing three rounds on Shinde and abandoned the bike near the jungle before being chased by a security guard. "We have the details of the bike owner and are making enquiries whether the bike was stolen," said an officer privy to the investigation. "Four suspects in connection with the case are being questioned. One of them is a history sheeter with body offences registered against his name."

Cops are also investigating the business rivalry angle, as Shinde had recently fallen out with a partner in the security business.

On Friday afternoon, Shinde (46) was shot at by two unidentified bikers outside Gate No. 2 in Film City. Shinde has several business interests including a cable TV operation in the Adarsh Nagar area, set construction and the ownership of a temple in Aarey Colony.
