The posh salon near Rajasthan restaurant in Khar caught fire in the basement area. The building has two basements, on the ground and seventh floors. The blaze erupted in the basement around 10 am, but remained confined to packing material, stock of cosmetics, electric wiring and installations.

Eight fire engines and six water tanker were rushed to the spot. The fire brigade team used a thermal imaging camera and exhaust bowers to douse the fire, which was brought under control around 2.20 pm. At the cloth factory at Damu Nagar, near MIDC bus stop, the fire was reported around 4 pm. Four fire engines were despatched. The fire was doused after an hour.
