Going by the current turn of events, it seems that things might not be funny any longer for stand up comedy group 'All India Bakchod' (AIB). Sources in Mumbai police informed dna that preliminary investigations reveal that there could be discrepancies in the script that was submitted to the Maharashtra Stage Performance Scrutiny Board (MSPSB), and what was actually enacted on stage. If these discrepancies do exist, it could prove to be a proverbial thorn in the flesh for AIB.

According to the sources, for all stage performances, there exist 14 permissions required. One of the mandatory clearances is needed from the MSPSB. The performers have to submit a copy of the script that will be enacted by the group on the stage.

Explaining the process, the source from MSPSB said: "All the scripts are submitted to the Board and they are checked so that no religious sentiments or cultural sentiments are hurt, after which a clearance is given."

However, according to the Mumbai police, during their course of inquiry, they have come to know that AIB had sought all the permissions, but there are issues in terms of the script submitted to the MSPSB.

A source from the city police said: "We had sought the copy of the script that was submitted by the organizer of the show to the MSPSB. When that was compared to the actual act that was performed by the AIB on stage, there was a lot of mismatch."

The police have already communicated to the AIB to submit their original script and the entire unedited version of the show to the Mumbai police. "We have informed AIB to submit their original script, as well as the unedited version of their show, as we believe the show that was put up on social media is the edited version," said the source.

He added that the discrepancy could spell trouble for the group, as MSPSB can register a case against the AIB.
