Fire breaks out at on the sets of 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' in Goregaon Filmcity; no casualties reported

The extent of damage and cause of the fire are yet to be ascertained.

Fire broke out on the sets of TV show Comedy Nights With Kapil at Goregaon Filmcity on Wednesday morning.

According to the Fire Brigade control room, the fire broke out at 8.15 am on Wednesday. Four fire engines, five jetties and an ambulance have been rushed to the spot.

According to official sources, the fire has been brought under control and no casualties have been reported so far.

The extent of damage and cause of the fire are yet to be ascertained.

One of the tweets on Twitter posted a picture of the scene.

Singer Sonu Nigam, who was expected to enter the show as a guest celebrity, posted on Twitter saying:

"It is unfortunate that such an incident has occurred on the sets of Comedy Nights With Kapil. There have been no casualties and we are currently in the process of assessing the extent of the damage," Colors channel spokesperson said.

"We are focusing all our efforts to resume shooting for the show so that we have no disruption and we don't disappoint our loyal viewers," the spokesperson added.

The popular TV show is hosted by stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma. Bollywood A-listers including Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor often come to promote their films on the show.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha apparently broke the news on Twitter as she was shooting nearby for 'Rambo Rajkumar'.
