Film editor arrested for allegedly outraging modesty of Brit national; released on bail

According to senior police inspector Milind Khetle of Malwani police station, the victim used to work as an air-hostess in British Airways and had come to Mumbai a few months ago to work as an actress in the Bollywood industry.

A 42-year-old British actress of Indian origin has registered a complaint against a film editor-65, at the Malwani police station on Tuesday. She alleged that the editor had outraged her modesty on the pretext of providing her a role in film industry. The woman also alleged that the editor has stolen her £1,300.

According to senior police inspector Milind Khetle of Malwani police station, the victim used to work as an air-hostess in British Airways and had come to Mumbai a few months ago to work as an actress in the Bollywood industry.

"She later met the accused and soon became friends. The victim in her complaint alleged that during her stay at the film editor's Malwani residence between April 9 to April 13, the latter used to molest her. She further alleged that the editor had put forward a condition that if she stayed with him he would give her an opportunity to work in the film industry," said Khetle.

"The victim registered a case of molestation and theft against the editor. Following the complaint we arrested the accused and he was remanded to judicial custody by the court. The victim had also alleged that the editor had stolen her ?1,300." added Khetle.
