The lackadaisical approach of the Mumbai police to deliver justice to a female Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) security guard posted at Andheri Metro station who was allegedly harassed by a senior officer has been shocking. The Andheri police is yet to arrest the accused and has revealed that they will make the arrest only when they have adequate evidence.

According to Andheri police, the woman is a Panvel resident and the accused has been identified as Vishwas Dudushkar, a senior officer. The victim in her statement alleged that the officer passed lewd comments and also harassed her mentally during work. The victim also alleged that the accused would also call her repeatedly asking her out. She has provided the call records as evidence to the police.

However, even though the complaint was registered on 22 December, the Mumbai police has failed to make any arrest in the case.

"We have registered the case under Section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code but no arrests have been made so far," said Pandit Thorat, Senior Inspector, Andheri police station. When asked about the reason, Thorat said, "I cannot reveal further details of the case" and disconnected the call. ACP DK Rupwate, Zone X said, "We will arrest the accused after we get adequate evidence and we are investigating further."
