Love Burnawal, a 30-year-old Network engineer by profession has alleged on Facebook and Twitter that the MIDC police have brutally beaten, abused and threatened him and his whole family on Saturday night.

While the police deny the allegation, Love's medical report's of Cooper Hospital shows swellings and bruises on his face and neck.

According to Love, he received a call on Saturday evening from his mother and father that they are at the MIDC police station, Andheri (East) for some three-year-old property issue. He and his brother Ankush then went to the police station. On arrival they saw a policeman named Deshmukh was pushing his parents. Love opposed and said, "you can't push like this" and asked his brother to record it in his phone. But as his brother was about to put a hand in his pocket, Deshmukh started beating his brother.

"As I tried to protest, the police officials started beating me brutally. I requested them to let me go but they did not. When I asked why they were beating me, one of themagain slapped me. 'Keep quite otherwise we will beat you enough to destroy your future and slap a case to ruin your career,' they said," Love told DNA.

"After some time, they took me to a room with a camera installed and they vanished. They returned after 10 minutes and turned the light off. They even covered the camera as it streamed the video to the commissioner of police. They continued beating me for an hour. Later they took me to the senior police inspector Shailesh D Palaswad. I thought this senior officer will help me, but he also started abusing me. Every time I tried to say something, he would slap me and say, Juban Ladata Hain. They behaved nothing less than hooligans," Love said.

"After repeated requests and pleading of my mother, they finally let us out around 2am, saying, Chod raha hun ehsaan samajh, warna saari charbi nikal deta. After this incident, I have lost faith and most importantly respect towards the Indian police," he added.

When contacted Shailesh Palaswad, Senior Police Inspector of MIDC Police Station he said, "nothing of this sort has happened in this police station. If the family has any complaints, they can contact our seniors. This station is under CCTV surveillance. So if anything like that had happened, it would have been recorded."

Love had posted the incident on twitter tagging the twitter handle of Joint commissioner of police Deven Bharti and twitter handle of the Commissioner Of Police Datta Padsalgikar Narrating the ordeal he gone through.

Responding to Love, Bharti tweeted, "@loveburnawal Meet DCP Vinayak Deshmukh at his office above MIDC police Station."
