A 33-year-old man who was forced to stay away from his 32-year-old wife for the last six years was recently granted divorce by the family court. The court, however, said the man's plea to hand him the custody of his minor daughter will not be allowed as he has failed to show the arrangements he'd made demonstrating his capability of raising the child in a healthy condition.

The couple got married in 2006. A year into marriage, his wife gave birth to a girl. Another year after that the woman's father came to the house and took her home with him, saying she would return after a week. However, according to the man, she never returned. When he called her, she started using abusive language with him. Finally, he filed a divorce petition.

The court, after going through the complaint, asked the woman to file her reply, to which she claimed she was not treated with respect at her husband's place and that he was unhappy after she gave birth to a girl. She also said that he wants to remarry and, hence, filed a false petition against her.

At the time of cross-examination, the woman failed to remain present in court. It, thus, granted divorce to the man, observing that she had failed to counter the allegations levelled against her.
