Happiness for the families of those acquitted from the Aurangabad Arms Haul case saw no boundaries on Thursday. Family of one of the acquitted persons, while speaking to dna, slammed Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for ruining life of those acquitted from the case.

Parents of 30-year-old Shaikh Vikar Mohammed Nisaar, burst into tears when the Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Thursday held him not guilty in the case. The family could not control their emotions and were all praise to the god.

Vikar, a resident of Beed, was in his late teens when he was picked up by the ATS sleuths and was arrested in connection with the arms haul case. "The ATS and police have somehow not highlighted the facts and for no reason I have spent eight years and six months in the prison, away from my family. My role was absolutely nothing and I was falsely implicated in the case. Merely on the basis of suspicion I was booked. I know some of the persons arrested in the case, but I was never part of the crime, even then the police arrested me," Vikar said.

He added: "I am happy that the court has relieved me and others who were framed in the case by the ATS. Some more people like me have been framed into this case merely on the basis of doubts and possibilities that they must be involved into this act. Each one of us have spent several years behind bars for not fault. The police should understand what innocent people like us must be going through because of their such actions."

Heaving a sigh of relief, Vikar's mother said: "When my son was arrested it was extremely difficult for us to meet him and we had to travel all the way from Beed to Mumbai. It became very difficult us to face the society. My son was innocent and he was destined to come out clean. We thank allah for this day."
