Facebook friend turns stalker, booked

Accepting the Facebook friend request of an unknown person turned into a nightmare for a mother of a 3-year-old child after he turned stalker and started threatening her.

The accused Aakash Gupta has been arrested by Antop Hill Police Station. According to the police, a 30-year-old woman from Sion received a friend request from the accused on Facebook. Their interaction began after the woman accepted the request. According to the police, the accused fell in love with her after they chatted for several days. When she denied his proposal, the accused obtained the woman’s mobile number and address and started following her. When he did not stop, the woman warned him of informing her husband which is when the accused got furious and started threatening her of defamation.

“When the victim continued ignoring him, the accused started threatening to kill her child. He even entered her house on one occasion, threatened and molested her,” said a police officer. “On the basis of complaint we registered an FIR and traced the accused with technical help,” he added.
