The MHADA Redevelopment Cell came into existence majorly for clearance of long pending proposals. Redevelopment Cell / Mumbai Board came into existence as per the wish and instructions of Chief Minister, Maharashtra State. After this cell coming into existence it has cleared most long pending proposals on top priority. Considering the effective working of this cell Vice President, MHADA gave full fledged charge of redevelopment for MHADA properties and layouts to it. With effect from August 15, 2013, this cell has been converted into Resident Executive Engineer/ Mumbai Board under myself.
This cell takes care of implementing the following:
Receiving of redevelopment proposal.
Informing short fall to the society
Court matters regarding redevelopment
Public dealing for various department issues
Prompt approvals of Redevelopment Proposals
Own Slum Rehabilitation Scheme on MHADA land.
Interaction with other department such as Government of Maharashtra, MCGM, SRA for better pursuance and better vision of MHADA.
Joint Venture Scheme
Formation of this cell has helped MHADA Board to increase its financial strength and potential by recovering pending premium of additional FSI from different societies on priority, which were long overdue.
This cell has effectively handled issues such as allotment of Titbit land, granting full FSI upto 2.5, Office Building Plot, Open and amenity plots creating positive vibes amongst the MHADA Societies.
This cell has represented true facts in various pending litigation in Mumbai City / Civil / High Courts and helped to clear maximum of them.
MHADA Redevelopment Cell has played a pivotal role in self development scheme by REE for redevelopment ground floor barracks/ chawls. From such scheme more affordable houses will be supplied to be common public.
Redevelopment Cell Motto has been:
To ensure effective implementation of Government Published DCR gazettes dated 14/11/2013 (Government of Maharashtra) to increase affordable Houses for the common public.
Promotion of cluster housing development.
Offering various suggestions to the board on schemes to be implemented for vacant land.
To implement SRA schemes on MHADA land by MHADA themselves.
To make available supply of mass houses from Redevelopment schemes and SRA schemes for the common public.
