When the accused in Mumbai serial blasts lodged at Yerwada jail came to know about Kasab’s hanging at the jail on Wednesday, they were horrified.

As per the Yerwada jail records, the seven accused of 1993 serial bomb blasts were brought to Pune from Mumbai a few months ago. They have been kept in the special yard inside the jail and not in the high-security Anda Cell.

When the news of Kasab’s hanging spread inside the jail, the seven accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case were scared as they have been arrested for the same crime by the police.

Speaking to DNA, jail Superintendent Yogesh Desai of Yerwada Central jail said, “We have kept all the accused in a separate yard inside the jail.”

Sources in Yerwada jail told DNA: “These accused have not been allowed to mingle with other inmates in the jail. They have been allotted different works in the jail.”

The jail officials said, “It was a obvious reaction from the accused. There were scared and did not interact with any jail staff on Wednesday morning.”

On March 12,1993 Mumbai blasts, a series of 13 bomb explosions rocked Mumbai. The coordinated attacks were the most destructive bomb explosions. Over 250 people were killed in blasts while over 7,00 people were injured.
