Bad roads were a big problem for the residents of Kalyan and Dombivli, but now, when the road has been concretised, they are struggling for the space to use the roads. The road from Gharda Circle to Tilak Nagar was recently concretised, but commuters complain that only one lane is being used, while rest of the road is encroached for keeping garbage bins, selling fish and vegetables. The space is also used for parking vehicles.

Gaurav Vishnoi, a commuter from the area informs, "Earlier the condition of road was very bad and after many complaints and follow ups, the road has been concretised, but now we are not getting enough space to drive through because the other lane is being encroached by shops to keep their dustbins."
"During the peak hours in the evening, the condition of the road becomes more bad, as most of the area is used by the vegetable vendors and hawkers. There is no parking facility in the near by area hence, most visitors park their vehicles on road itself, " said Harkesh G, a local resident."

It has been a month, since the road was redone and since that time, the commuters are forced to use only one lane. The residents, have complained to the authorities about the issue, but nothing has been done till now.

The police official at times take action against the hawkers and remove them but, after a day or two they return to their places. The locals also urge the authorities to make a parking space nearby, so that shoppers can park their vehicle and the road is free of traffic.
People have also written a letter to the authorities to take action against the hawkers and vendors in the area.
KDMC PRO, Prasad Thakur informs, "The hawkers policy is yet not formed but very soon we will allot places to the hawkers, where they can carry their business and action will be taken against the hawkers at Tilak Nagar Road."
