Encroachers on MTHL land get eviction notice

A few developers have also reportedly sold Cidco plots to several gullible buyers

City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has served eviction notices to several unauthorised constructions that have come up on ts land reserved for the proposed Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) road project in Uran and Panvel taluka. A few developers have also reportedly sold Cidco plots to several gullible buyers.

The planing agency has finally woken up and sent eviction notices giving them 15 days time to demolish their illegal construction or face action. According to Cidco official, a total 7 unauthorised construction land holders have been issued notices to demolish the illegal structures on their own or face further action. There was resistance from the encroachers as they refused to receive the notices and they protested Cidco's move.

"The encroachers have been issued a 15-day notice to demolish the illegal constructions and hand over the plots. Otherwise, Cidco will raze the structures and recover the expenditure from the encroachers," said Mohan Ninawe, senior Public Relations Officer of Cidco.
