Over 5,000 homes with the Konkan Board will go for sales in Jan 2019; rest lie with Mumbai Board

If you didn't win a house in the MHADA lottery which concluded on Sunday, do not lose hope yet. A lottery of more than 7,000 homes is on the cards for next year, 2019. Of these homes, the Konkan Board will hold a lottery in January for more than 5,000 homes. The remaining 2,000 homes is the target that the Mumbai Board has been assigned and the lottery will be held within a year.

Vijay Lahane, the Chief Officer of Konkan Board, confirmed that they are preparing for a lottery of more than 5,000 homes in January 2019. "Our figure for the lottery will be more than 5,000 homes, most of them are part of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and are located Shirdone and Koni areas," he said.

Apart from Konkan Board, Mumbai Board will also have a lottery in 2019. Sanjay Bhagwat, the Joint Chief Officer of Mumbai Board said, "We have been assigned the target of 2,000 homes for the future lottery."

The Mumbai Board of MHADA concluded a lottery of 1,384 homes located in various nodes of Mumbai on Sunday. There were above 1.64 lakh applicants who participated for these homes. The list of winners which has politicians and commoners alike, also includes names of several top MPs and MLAs.

The Konkan Board lottery will be held in January; which means the advertisement has to appear within the first week of January. All of the processes for this lot have to be concluded before the election code of conduct for the general elections comes into force. Normally, MHADA concludes the lottery process within 45 days of it coming out with the advertisement.

MHADA's lottery not only got a good response offline this time, even online got a great response with more than 43,000 people from 43 countries visiting the MHADA website to watch the lottery process live. These included countries like the USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China, Egypt and others.

EXPENSIVE HOMES

The most expensive home priced at Rs 5.80 crore, located in building named Dhavalgiri at Cumbala Hill, has received more than 44 applications.

The other two expensive homes priced at Rs 5.13 crore and Rs 4.99 crore have also received around 44 and 42 applications each.A

All the flats are two BHKs.

The area of the most expensive flat is 965 sq ft.
