The Defence Estate Officer (DEO) of the Ministry of Defence has written to the Charity Commissioner's office that no transaction be allowed on a plot of land given by the ministry on lease to members of the Anglican Church, and where the head office of the Bombay Diocesan Trust Association (BDTA) currently stands.

A similar letter has also been sent to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation asking that no permission for any kind of construction be allowed.

"We have written a letter last week to the Charity Commissioner's office to not allow them any kind of transaction on our land," said Prasad Chavan, DEO.

The letter follows a public notice that the DEO had issued warning anyone from creating any third party rights on the land.

The 38,394 sq ft plot of land stands on Hazarimal Somani Marg close to the Bombay Gymkhana and Azad Maidan.
