The Bandra metropolitan magistrate’s court issued notices to the family members of the late Rajesh Khanna on a complaint filed by one Anita Advani who claims she used to stay with the actor since 2003.

The Bandra metropolitan magistrate’s court on Wednesday issued notices to the family members of the late Rajesh Khanna on a complaint filed by one Anita Advani who claims she used to stay with the actor since 2003.

Rajesh Khanna passed away  in July.

The family members, Khanna’s wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Twinkle Kumar and Rinki Saran and son-in-law Akshay Kumar, have been told to reply on the charges levelled against them under the Domestic Violence Act.

The plea filed by Advani also claimed that the will which is probated by the actor’s family is not correct.

She claimed maintenance : under the Domestic Violence Act on the grounds that that she lived with the actor in the “shared household” (defined under the Act) as a place where a man and woman live as husband and wife and hence was entitled to maintenance to support herself.

She alleged that the actor’s family had evicted her from his Bandra bungalow Aahirwad. Advani prayed that she be granted protection under the Act and be allowed access to the bungalow, which is at present in the possession of his family members.

The plea will be heard on November 27.

The family members of Khanna have been denying the allegations ever since the controversy cropped up after his death in July.

Advani was neither allowed to attend the late superstar’s funeral and nor  given entry to the house.
