The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Palghar range on Saturday booked a government doctor Anil Yadav, in a disproportionate asset (DA) case.

Shockingly, Yadav had been on the radar of the ACB since 2010 and three ACB officials probing the case had given him a clean chit by submitting a case closure report to the department. Earlier, Yadav was arrested on charges of extortion by the Palghar police.

The local Crime Branch of Palghar police had arrested Yadav after two builders had filed a case of extortion against him. According to the crime branch, Yadav was posted in Vasai as Public Health Officer but was later transferred to Osmanabad after being arrested on corruption charges in 2010 by ACB, Thane. Yadav did not join duty and instead formed a team of people who filed Right to Information queries at government offices and issued threats to renowned builders to extort money.

"Yadav has a row house in Nashik and properties in Vasai. We have also found exorbitant bank transactions of Yadav despite no source of income. We have acquired details of his bank account in Ghaziabad and properties belonging to his first and second wife," said an ACB official.
