City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) is doing all it can to win over the project-affected persons (PAPs), firstly by adopting a people-centric approach and by ensuring transparency. In a step further, the body has decided to approach the PAPs, instead of the latter coming to planning agency’s office.

According to sources, Sunil Kendrekar, who has been given additional charge as the joint managing director of Cidco on account of V Radha’s leave, has asked officials to approach PAPs and clear their files on priority.

“If a project-affected person does not approach us, it is our duty to go to them and complete their work formalities. These are the instructions of the joint MD,” said a source.

Kendrekar, who had taken on the political leaders, when he was the collector of Beed, has also issued a set of instructions to Cidco employees. “The official has started taking stock of every department and asked officials to be present in office on time and to not waste time in office.

Officials have also been strictly instructed to refrain from indulging in any wrongdoings and corrupt practices,” said the source. Kendrekar is the chief administrative officer at Cidco in Aurangabad.

The planning agency has been accused of betraying PAPs’ faith in the past. It has now embarked on a drive to restore their confidence in them by introducing several measures to keep corruption in check in the 12.5% department.
