The 13th edition of DNA's two-day Auto Fest: Walk in, Drive out was inaugurated will much fanfare on Saturday by BJP MLA Manda Mhatre along with Bollywood actress Sonnalli Seygall, at Vashi.
Others who were present at the Auto Fest included Pranav Desai, Director, and CEO of Cleaveland CycleWerks India; Bharadwaj Dayala, Chairman and MD of YUV Entertainment Pvt Ltd; Bharadwaj Dalaye, one of the first Indians to travel the globe on a motorcycle in 2007.
The Auto Fest is being organised at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi. It aims to give car lovers a chance to view and buy a high-tech car and super-bike models.
The fest showcases a wide range of national and international brands like Hyundai, Toyota, Volvo along with motorbike brands like Kawasaki, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson, Ducati.
Mhatre said, "Such exhibitions are always welcomed here as it gives a boost to Navi Mumbai. Such initiatives also give the youth a place to unite and perform and present a stage for their creativity and talent."
In terms of display, the Auto Fest has newly-launched cars like Ertiga Automatic, Santro (new model), and Toyota Liva (newly launched) followed by vintage cars by Toyota Supra made for China and vintage left-hand drive car for the showcase.
This is also followed by superbikes used for racing and off-roading. The display had bikes by Kawasaki, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson, Ducati, and Norton. Not only a showcase but also a glimpse of their firing is showcased to you. A separate area was also reserved where stunts were being performed by the bikers.
Meanwhile, the fest also gave a platform to the students of KJ Somaiya college, VJTI college and IIT Bombay allowing them to showcase their talent wherein their customised cars, which are generally used off-road, were displayed as a mark of inspiration for the youth.
