The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is struggling to resolve the issue of potholes in the city following incessant rains. A large number of potholes have been formed on roads across the city due to continuous rains last week and the civic roads department has started work in most of the affected areas.

BMC started its work in the Daulat Nagar after dna had highlighted in its July 21 and August 2 issues how citizens of the area have been harrowed by innumerable potholes. Citizens had complained that the roads department and the ward offices have been ignoring their complaints. In fact, dna had reported that the irked residents of Santa Cruz (West) had sent images of potholes to the municipal commissioner stating that the department was ignoring the problem for almost a month.

"It seems like BMC has taken the complaints seriously. The repair work has started and the way it has been done is unbelievable," said a resident of Daulat Nagar area of Santa Cruz.
