Aditya Thackeray’s former tutor and Shiv Sena corporator Avkash Jadhav has been served a warning letter by St Xavier’s college for sharing the contents of a survey on education system with the media. Jadhav is a history professor at St Xavier’s, where Aditya completed his graduation in history.
The survey, the college argued, was meant for academic purposes and was never meant to be in the public domain. Father Frazer Mascarenhas, principal of the college, said, “I have sent a letter to him saying that the survey has to be done under the supervision of the principal. Since it is for academic purposes, it should not be reported in the media.”
“I am ready to support him in all creative ventures. But it has to be cleared by the college as the college has to take responsibility for the survey,” he said. Another professor accused Jadhav of mixing politics with college activities.
“It was felt he was trying to get publicity through the survey. It was done without keeping the college authorities in the loop,” said the professor. Jadhav admitted that he received the letter on October 3.
