Yogita Gulab Patil, a student of Dnyanopasak Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Dhule's Malpur village, managed to score an impressive 91 per cent in her SSC exams this year, despite financial constraints.

The family has few ways to earn a living as Yogita's mother, elder sister, and younger brother are hearing and speech impaired. Apart from studying for her exams, Yogita also motivated both her siblings to study and helped them sail through their SSC exams.

Talking about her family, Yogita said, "My father works as a farm labourer and earns around Rs 100 a day. So, I decided to work and started paying my school fees from Class 9. I knew that Class 10 will be a turning point in my life and hence I started focusing more on studies. My school teachers helped me in a big way. I used sign language to teach my brother and sister. I want to pursue Science and become an IAS officer and make my parents proud."

Arun Mahale, Yogita's teacher said, "She is the first one to receive a scholarship as well as score above 90 per cent in the entire village. If Yogita gets financial backing, she will definitely prove herself and pursue her dreams."
