Tongues have started wagging after news of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and former CM Narayan Rane turned up at Ahmedabad on the same day. While Fadnavis had a meeting scheduled with BJP National President Amit Shah at New Delhi, Rane was to meet a consultant in the capital for his proposed medical college in Sindhudurg district.

However, coincidence or not, both the leaders turned up going to Ahmedabad instead.

Fadnavis informed that Shah had to fly to Ahmedabad since he had become a grandfather, and thus the change in the schedule. However, Rane, who is believed to have met both Shah and Fadnavis in Ahmedabad, refuted the reports stating he was to meet the consultant in Delhi but had to fly to Ahmedabad since the latter told him to meet him there.

Rane said, "I have neither met Shah nor Fadnavis. The visuals of me travelling with Fadnavis could be old ones." Fadnavis, however, maintained that he did meet Shah in Ahmedabad, but not Rane. Meanwhile, BJP state president Raosaheb Danve said, "News about Rane could be part of political developments happening all over the country since many people are interested in joining the BJP."

BJP AND RANE

BJP would have an advantage in the Konkan region if Rane joins them, since he can win one Lok Sabha seat. Being a former CM, he can take on Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP. BJP can have Rane to replace Khadse to take on Opposition to provide a buffer to Fadnavis
