DGCA launches portal for fliers

The DGCA on Tuesday launched a portal expected to give information on the rights of passengers in cases of delays, cancellation or not being allowed to board, lost, delayed, misplaced and damaged baggage, and on booking, airfare components, and refund. The information on availability of the Grievance Redressal Mechanism, names of nodal officers, and contact numbers too will be put up on the portal.

These include a number of initiatives to help disabled fliers, such as reserving two window seats, which are not on emergency exits, till 24 hours before the flight, provision of baggage assistance till ladder point, and special help desks, which have already been set up at 76 airports.
