Devendra Fadnavis stays transfer of cop probing Govind Pansare's murder case

A delegation led by leader of Opposition in state assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil along with Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders Prakash Reddy and Prakash Narvekar met Fadnavis and demanded staying of Deshmukh's transfer.

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday stayed the transfer order of police inspector Amrut Deshmukh from Rajarampuri police station in Kolhapur. Deshmukh was investigating the sensitive case of comrade Govind Pansare's murder.

A delegation led by leader of Opposition in state assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil along with Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders Prakash Reddy and Prakash Narvekar met Fadnavis and demanded staying of Deshmukh's transfer. Pansare's daughter Smita Pansare, her husband Bansi Satpute and the other son-in-law Hemant Butte were also part of the delegation.

Fadnavis told dna that he has issued orders to stay the transfer of Deshmukh. Vikhe-Patil and Smita Pansare said that there have been transfers of police officers from this police station and this shows how serious the state government is about the Pansare murder case investigations. Vikhe-Patil also said that the delegation has demanded that the chief minister should deploy a separate IPS officer with a special investigating team for the investigations.

Smita Pansare said that transfer of five IPS officers and other police officers have been delaying the investigations. She also said that Pansare's family members are getting the impression that the government lacks political will to nab those involved in the murder.

Dombivli blast case

Vikhe-Patil informed that the delegation also demanded shifting of hazardous chemical factories from Dombivli MIDC and relocate those at an alternative location away from the city limits. He informed that the chief minister has assured to shift and relocate the chemical factories to nearby places.
