Despite being one of the busiest bus State Transport originating points in the region, the facilities provided to commuters at the so-called depot outside the Bhayander railway station are pathetic.

Commuters are deprived of basic facilities such as pure drinking water, proper enquiry counters, urinals. The authorities are yet to construct sheds and stands, thus forcing commuters to brave the weather. Be it the scorching heat or the rains, commuters have to stand in self-formed queues amidst bustling vehicular traffic along the main road.

This despite the fact that the ST authorities are in the possession of a vast property which has been reserved for the construction of a bus terminal. Although various public transport authorities, including Mira Bhayander Municipal Transport, BEST and NMMT operate their services to and fro from the twin-city, the ST services is the most-sought-after medium for outstation travellers and also people commuting to the various government and judicial establishment located in Thane.

Thousands of passengers board or alight at this bus depot daily, but there is total absence of basic facilities to them. Even though the on-duty bus depot controller admitted that it was the need of the hour for the his higher ups in the ST to construct a state of the art terminal at the designated plot, he expressed his inability to do anything on this front.
