Decapitated body of missing man found

The decapitated body of a 22-year-old man, who has been missing from Dindoshi since December 19, was found in the forests of Aarey Colony on Thursday. The police found the severed head a few metres away from the body.

The deceased has been identified as Brandon Kashmiro Gonsalves.

According to police, local labourers were making their way to a nearby farm on Thursday when they found the naked, decapitated body. They informed the police immediately. The police also found articles of clothes that may have belonged to the deceased. The body was later sent for autopsy.

"After finding the body, we began scrutinising the missing complaints filed against the deceased in local police stations. We came across a complaint wherein one Brandon Gonsalves was missing since December 19 from Dindoshi. The face of the deceased matched the photograph of Gonsalvis which was part of the missing complaint filed by the victim's mother," said Kirankumar Chavan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, zone XII.
