The first day of SSC exams has gone smoothly, said state board officials on Tuesday. While students were happy with the good start to the exams, board helpline was flooded with queries on exam centres and confusion over the time table.
Mumbai divisional board secretary SY Chandekar, said, "We didn't receive any calls on concession or problems at any exam centre on Day 1 of SSC exams. There was confusion at one centre, with authorities claiming they did not got 200 question papers, which they found later. Otherwise, the first day went smoothly."
The board, however, has received a written complaint regarding an SSC exam centre in Raigad, alleging mass copying by students.
It was a jittery day for HSC students, on other hand, with around 75% calling up the helpline to verify a rumour on maths and physics re-exam owing to the papers being leaked.
A counsellor said, "It seems physics and maths papers were tough for students. That's why they are spreading rumours that the papers were leaked and, hence, there would be re-exam. The board has appealed to all HSC students to not spread such rumours and stay focussed."
