Dawoodi Bohra community changes meeting venue due to 'unruly elements'

The break-away faction of Dawoodi Bohra community on Tuesday alleged that the venue and time of the press conference was changed due to pressure from "unruly elements". Earlier, the conference was to take place at Trident Hotel in Nariman Point.

The conference was eventually conducted at Trade Centre in Bandra-Kurla Complex by the sons of self-declared Syedna of the community, Abdeali and Aziz Qutbuddin. The break-away faction has alleged that "unruly elements" in the community have been threatening them after the split. "It was the hotel who cancelled it," said Aziz Qutbuddin. "They said they would not be able to hold because religious sentiments were involved," he added.
