A Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST)-Titwala train derailed as it was pulling out of platform number 1 of Dombivali station on Tuesday at around 11:45 am.
Central Railway (CR) officials said the last coach of the train - also called the guard coach - derailed. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, the CR officials said. Relief trains with re-railing equipment have been rushed to the spot from Kurla and Kalyan, the officials said.
As a result of the derailment, the down slow line is expected to be affected for several hours now, until the train is re-railed and moved out.
More details are awaited.
