Crude explosive found at builder's office in Nashik

A crude bomb placed in a box inside the office of a well known builder in Nashik was defused by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) on Wednesday.

A crude bomb placed in a box inside the office of a well known builder in Nashik was defused by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) on Wednesday.

According to police, a parcel addressed to the state president of Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India (CREDAI) and builder Anant Rajegaonkar, director of Suyojit Buildcon was placed on a desk at the latter's office in Suyojit Sankul, at 2pm on Wednesday.

The parcel was opened by one of the workers, who found a petrol bottle linked to a circuit on it. The office is located opposite the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) building.

Inspector KM Wagh, BDDS said: "The crude bomb was immediately defused. Prima facie, the intensity of the explosion could have been 2-3 metres."

Cops are checking CCTV footage, talking to people and other probes are ongoing.
