Crowds drool over cars, bikes on display at dna's Auto Show

The Cidco Exhibition Centre in Vashi was packed on Sunday with enthusiasts who had a wide variety of cars and bikes to choose from.

As word about dna's seventh Auto Show spread far and wide, huge crowds thronged the venue on the second day of the expo. People from all walks of life came in to see the automobiles of their choice. While some went back home having booked their dream vehicles, others zeroed in on ones that they would own in the near future.

The Cidco Exhibition Centre in Vashi was packed on Sunday with enthusiasts who had a wide variety of cars and bikes to choose from. Reputed car brands like BMW, Mini Cooper, Jaguar, Range Rover, Mercedes, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Honda Cars, Renault India, General Motors, Toyota and Volkswagen were all there to attract prospective buyers with some of their new models.

On the other hand, Ducati, Harley Davidson, Triumph, Benelli, Hyosung dominated the bike section.

Buyers who were looking for sleek and multifeatured cars were hooked to models like Mini Cooper's 5-door, Toyota's Camry Hybrid and BMW's 520d. These were some of the models that appealed to visitors who looked to book a vehicle in the high-end range.

On the other hand, the young lot with a zest for speed were seen drooling over bikes made by Triumph Motorcycles, Harley Davidson's Street 750 and Super Low, Suzuki's Hayabusa, Honda's Gold Wing among many other super bikes.

Vijay Shah, an Andheri resident who made it to the expo on the second day, said, "Triumph had some of the best bikes on display. I along with my group of friends go for long bikes rides at night and I was able to choose one that would suit my preferences and budget rightly."

Many youngsters were seen crowding the stalls of IIT and VJTI students who had created concept cars. Dheeraj Sethi, a standard XII student who aspires to be an engineer, said: "Works of both set of students is remarkable. The features of the racing car and go-kart are exceptional. I follow such inventions of students and the auto expo was a perfect place to personally meet and interact with the students."

The first day was also packed with action as a serpentine queue was seen outside the registration desk as soon as the expo was inaugurated. Award winning singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan came in with his son Siddharth to inaugurate the show while Elli Avram, the new face in Bollywood, came in later in the day to glance around at some of the best wheels on display.

Well-known TV celebrity Jay Bhanushali's presence at the expo gave youngsters another reason to be excited.
