The cyber cell of Mumbai crime branch has launched an investigation into a piracy complaint registered by the director and producer of Marathi blockbuster movie Dr Prakash Amte, The Real Hero. The filmmaker, Samruddhi Porey, has alleged that the entire movie was available on downloading site E-torrent.

In her complaint, Porey has also said the print of the movie available on the site is what she had submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification, hinting at a possibility of a board official being involved in this act of piracy.

According to cyber cell officials, on November 16, Porey approached them and registered a complaint, alleging the entire movie was available on the downloading website. Following the complaint, the crime branch registered a case against unknown people.

Deputy commissioner of police (detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni, said, "The director of the film approached us with a complaint, and we have accordingly registered a case against unknown people and are investigating the case."

When asked whether any censor board official will be questioned, Kulkarni said, "We will send them a letter asking for their reply to the allegations and take a call after that."

Despite repeated attempts, Porey was unreachable for a comment.
