The Versova police on Monday arrested eleven Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers after they protested outside the residence of Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam in Versova.

According to police,the workers protested outside the house of Nirupam and raised slogans against him. The workers had set up vegetables and fruits' stalls outside the his house, following which the Versova police had immediately reached the spot and detained eight MNS workers. In another incident, Dadar police on Monday also arrested four MNS workers who were earlier involved in the evicting hawkers forcefully. Later, all the workers were released on bail.

Meanwhile Vashi police, too, arrested five MNS workers who on Sunday allegedly vandalised hawkers' stalls outside the local railway station and assaulted few hawkers. In another incident, thirteen MNS workers, who were earlier arrested by Borivali and Dahisar polices, were exterened from city limits by the Borivali Court on Monday for the next three days. All the accused have been asked to be reach Solapur and Buldhana. The court had asked them to be present at the local police stations.
