Couple robbed and molested in Bandra

A 21-year-old girl was allegedly molested and robbed of valuables by three men in Bandra West on wee hours of Sunday.

The girl was accompanied by her 25-year-old boyfriend. The incident happened near Slaughter House compound in Shastri Nagar in Bandra West at around 3 am on Sunday. The Bandra police has registered a case of molestation and robbery and arrested two of the accused. The third accused is still on the run.

According to the police, the duo were travelling on their bike and were on their way back to South Mumbai after a get together. Rajendra Kane, PI of Bandra polie said, "The boy wanted to smoke when they reached Bandra. They were searching around for a cigarette shop near the railway station, but couldn't find any shop. A trio in their 20s who were roaming in the area spotted them searching for a shop and approached them." The trio approached the couple and inquired. When the couple told them they were looking for a cigarette shop, they offered to help them. The trio allegedly took them to an isolated lane in Shashtri Nagar.

Kane said, "After this, the three accosted them and assaulted the boy and later tried to misbehave with the woman and touched her inappropriately behind a parked tempo. Then they snatched away phones worth Rs 30,000 and Rs3,000 and Rs 500 worth cash. They allegedly threatened to kill them if they made any noise. After stealing the cash and valuables, the three fled."

Following this, the duo approached the Bandra police where a case was registered. After investigations, the police arrested two accused Abdul Shaikh (21) and Farhad Sayyed (20). A third accused is on the run.Both the victims live in South Mumbai and work for a private company
