The mysterious circumstances under which a Chartered Accountant (CA) was allegedly robbed at his Sion residence have made the police probe whether there is something more than what meets the eye.

What has left the police baffled is that the building does not have any watchman, nor is it equipped with CCTVs. The CA could not help the police with the description of the suspect and whether it was not just a coincidence that the victim was alone at home when the robber struck.

According to police, on October 9, victim Chintan Shah, 43, a resident of Gujarat Society in Sion, was at home when a courier boy sought his help by asking him to read out an address written on a 'parcel' and within seconds Shah fell unconscious.

On regaining consciousness he informed his family and the police.

Shah claimed that cash, jewellery and valuables collectively worth Rs 9 lakh were 'missing'.

"There are certain things in the case that raises eyebrows. Our probe is on from all angles," said Mrudula Lad, Senior Police Inspector, Sion Police station.
