A 20-year-old son of a police constable and his younger brother were arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting a 30-year-old event manager following a road rage incident near Anti-Terrorism Squad headquarters in Nagpada on Sunday afternoon.

The arrested has been identified as Rohan More. His father is attached with the motor transport department in Nagpada and lives in the police colony with his family.

According to the FIR registered with Nagpada police station, the complainant, Bilal Khan, was heading towards Matunga, along with his wife. He took a left to go to the petrol pump near ATS headquarters, and a Santro coming from a lane there hit Khan's car. The driver of the Santro and Khan had a verbal altercation. However, it soon turned into an ugly fight.

"I just asked them to drive properly, but they started abusing me, and when I retaliated, the two people in the Santro got down and started hitting me. I too started hitting them to save myself, but the driver then hit me with an iron lid," said Khan to the police in his complaint.

Khan also said the other occupant ran towards the police colony and called 10-12 people. Soon, a mob came and allegedly started assaulting Khan. When Khan's wife intervened, she was allegedly molested by one person from the mob. Khan then approached the Nagpada police station and registered a complaint against the 10-12 unknown people.

The police have registered a case of unlawful assembly, molestation, causing damage and causing hurt against the accused. "We have arrested More and his minor brother and are making further inquiries," said an officer from Nagpada police station.
