Congress leader’s ‘nephew’ held for threatening woman

According to the police, accused Gaurav Anand Shrivastava had allegedly threatened the victim and would harass her by calling her repeatedly.

A 27-year-old woman has registered a complaint at Dahisar police station against a 29-year-old man who claimed to be ‘nephew’ of Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam for allegedly abusing and threatening her.

According to the police, accused Gaurav Anand Shrivastava had allegedly threatened the victim and would harass her by calling her repeatedly. The police said Shrivastava had  threatened to throw acid on her face. “We have registered a case against Shrivastava. But as the place of offense falls under Versova Police station, we have transferred the case there,” said police officer. When contacted Nirupam he said, “He is unaware of it.”
