RTI activists in the city have made a demand of sort to the Aam Aadmi Party. They have asked AAP to come under the sunshine Act's ambit. Although political parties have been declared as public authority under the RTI Act by the central information commission, they have not adhered to the order.

AAP, which is headed by Arvind Kejriwal, has been one of the prime agitators to get RTI Act in India. “They should come under RTI. If they come under it, they can show all the other parties that they are willing and corner them,” said Bhaskar Prabhu, an activist.

“My feeling is that AAP may not be as affected but it will put enough pressure on the rest. AAP says they have a meeting when they get donations over a certain amount,” said Shailesh Gandhi, former central information commissioner.

Subhash Ware, convenor of AAP in Maharashtra, said: “We have made this demand a long time ago. In our case, funding details are available without that also. I will put this issue under the national executive meeting of our party.”
