While the degree college admissions have begun after a short gap, Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti wrote a letter to the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University alleging that colleges are fleecing students by charging them from Rs 100 to Rs 150 for prospectus and college forms. According to the organization, the 2001 government resolution (GR) has clearly stated that colleges should charge only Rs 20 from each student for admission form and college prospectus.

Shyam Sonar, an activist and member of Samiti, said, "We have proof that despite government directions to charge only Rs 20, many colleges are charging more from students. Also, different college have different fees for prospectus. We have written to the VC to conduct an enquiry and take necessary action on such colleges."
