Students from different colleges took out marches in the city on Saturday to pay tribute to those martyred in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Over 150 volunteers of Mithibai College in Vile Parle had been making arrangements over the past month for the march carried out by them at Juhu. While volunteers invited students from their college, they also went to different colleges and invited other students to participate in the march.

Speaking about the initiative, Miraj Shah, a Mithibai College student, said: "This march is not only to pay tribute to the 26/11 martyrs but also to remember the soldiers who are at the border and fighting to safeguard our lives. We think this is an opportunity to write and send our messages to the soldiers." Volunteers asked students and visitors at Juhu beach to write their messages on 80-metres of white cloth which will soon be couriered to the Siachen Glacier.

"This is an opportunity to appreciate the work done by our soldiers. We have invited over 140 colleges to participate with us. The march has been conducted by youths. We have been making posters for the past few days," said second year student Riya Sutharia. Students of Siddarth College, meanwhile, organised a march from Hutama Chowk to Taj Hotel to pay their respects.
